Act 32 of 2008 amended the local tax enabling act, Act 5111 of 1965, to consolidate the collection of earned income tax in Pennsylvania on a county-by-county basis. This act is meant to streamline the state’s system of Earned Income Tax collection and keep much needed tax revenue from slipping through the cracks. By January 2012, earned income tax collection will occur in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
