Minutes of the Meeting of the Rush Township Board of Supervisors

The meeting of the Rush Township Board of Supervisors was called to order by Supervisor Shawn Gilbert at 7 o’clock p.m. Those in attendance were Supervisor Robert Leibensperger, Supervisor Jeaninne Motroni, and Secretary/Treasurer Darlene Fenstermacher. Eighteen residents, three supervisors, and an attorney of Rush Township were in attendance.

  3. PUBLIC COMMENT –

 

Lori Lewis – Information submitted on damages made to her property due to a water main break.

 

Rodney Button – Spoke about people in the township dumping grass clippings near a “No Dumping” sign.

 

Olivia Button – Stated her concern that the grass clippings near the “No Dumping” sign piles high.

 

Lucy Spare – Stated that the storm drain near her house was clogged due to a recent storm.

 

Len Tenula – Questioned the progress of his neighbor’s yard being cleaned up on Crest Street.

 

Bill Boyer – Questioned the sewer rates and if any sewer projects were currently in motion.

 

  1. POLICE REPORTS – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  2. M & B ENVIRONMENTAL REPORTS – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  3. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS – MAY 17, 2012 – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  4. TREASURER’S REPORT – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  1. APPROVAL OF CURRENT TOWNSHIP AND SEWER BILLS THROUGH JUNE 30, 2021 – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  2. MUNICIPAL REPORTS – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  3. CORRESPONDENCE – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.

 

  1. ATTORNEY’S BUSINESS – Executive session held on May 31, 2012. – Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.

  1. Motion to approve an ordinance amending certain portions of ordinance #46, specifically section 4 dealing with the penalties and adding severability clause #175. Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  2. Motion to authorize our solicitor to take all steps necessary to have an ordinance prohibiting tobacco use in township parks and playgrounds for a vote at the next regular meeting. Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  3. Motion to approve a stipulation resolving a tax assessment appeal concerning tax parcel 25-9-3.005 which is a cell tower location in the Nesquehoning area. Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  4. Motion to appoint Kenneth Hoppes to the Planning Commission for a 4 year term. Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  5. Motion to authorize Prodesign Plus to complete the Environmental Review Record for the Housing Rehabilitation Program. Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  6. Motion to authorize Prodesign Plus to publish and post notices required for Environmental Clearance. Motioned made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger. Motion seconded by Supervisor Motroni. Ms. Fenstermacher polled the Board. All voted yes.
  7. Motion to authorize our solicitor to take all necessary steps to have an ordinance prohibiting truck traffic on specified residential streets in the township for a vote at the next regular
