Minutes of the Meeting of the Rush Township Board of Supervisors
A meeting was held at the Rush Township Municipal Building on May 15, 2014 at 7:00 o’clock pm. In Attendance Chairman Shawn Gilbert, Vice Chairman Robert Leibensperger, Supervisor Jeaninne Motroni, Secretary/Treasurer Darlene Fenstermacher, Administrative Assistant Denise Hope, Attorney Chris Riedlinger and Bill McMullen.

Public Comment
1. Charlie Shamonsky- questioning the sewer that was put in by his house, he still is getting water and dirt in his yard, questioning Bonosky street being paved. He also questioning why they are always surveying by Mr Boyers house. Wants to know about the police car sitting in the back if it runs or not?
2. William Boyer- Asking what the township is doing about the trees behind his house that were damaged? Said to make sure we check the survey before we do anything
3. Joseph Shamonsky- Why we didn’t stone the road behind Mr Boyers house, Why there is so much surveying being done here in hometown, like on Tamaqua Street?
4. Cathy Schmipf- ask if there is anything we can do with the railroad crossing at burn hard?
Police Report– Sergeant Duane Fredrick read his report for the Month April 2014. A motion was made by Vice Chairman Leibensperger to approve Sergeant Fredrick Report. Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board. All members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
Minutes of Previous Meeting – April 17 & April 27, 2014 A motion was made by Vice Chairman to approve the previous meeting minutes of April 17 & , 2014. Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried
Treasurer’s Report – A motion was made by Vice Chairman Leibensperger to approve the treasurer’s report as of April 30, 2014. Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
Approval of current township and sewer bills thru May 30, 2014 – A motion was made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger to approve the municipal reports for May 2014. Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
Approval of municipal reports (sewer, road, Arro, Prodesign)– A motion was made by Vice-Chairman Leibensperger to approve the municipal reports for April 2014. Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion, Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board. All members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
Attorney’s Business – Tax emption request on the sale of Property on Johns Street where the pump station is located in now complete and the township now owns, Also the loan should be settled and ready for signing on May 27 or 28
New Business– A motion for St Jerome’s to hold a 5K walk/run on Township roads on June 7th 2014, Vice Chairman Leibensperger to approve, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
A motion for the hometown fire police to help direct traffic during the St Jerome’s 5K run/walk on June 7th 2014, Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
A motion for Hometown fire police to direct traffic within the township for the 2014 Dream Ride on August 10, 2014 as they drive thru Rush Township, Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
A motion to adopt Resolution 2014-12 Giving notice with trees hanging over certain right a ways. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. . Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
A motion to authorize a solicitor to proceed on tax emption recently obtained containing a pump station. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
A motion to finalize the Ankeiweitz Settlement on Bonosky Street repair. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
A motion for Vice Chairman Leibensperger to apply for a 902 grant for leaf collection truck. Chairman Gilbert approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Fenstermacher polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.
Supervisors Comment-Residents are encouraged to register for the CODE RED Emergency Notification System o the Rush Township Website
*Any correspondence sent to the township without a signature, the township can not act on, there must be a signature
*Leaf and Branch Cleanup is over and will be picked back up in October
*Were having issues with wipes that are woven being flushed and getting stuck in Laurel wood pump station, these wipes cannot be flushed.
Chairman Gilbert adjourned the meeting at 8: o’clock pm.
