Minutes of the Meeting of the Rush Township Board of Supervisors

 

A meeting was held at the Rush Township Municipal Building on June 18, 2015 at 7:00 o’clock pm. In Attendance were: Chairman Shawn Gilbert, Vice Chairman Robert Leibensperger, Supervisor Jeaninne Motroni, Secretary/Treasurer Katie Orlick, Attorney Chris Riedlinger and Bill McMullen.

Chairman Gilbert called the meeting to order.

Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

 

Police Report Sergeant Duane Fredrick read his report for the month of May 2015. A motion was made by Chairman Shawn Gilbert to approve Sergeant Frederick’s report. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board. All members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

 

Minutes of Previous Meeting – May 19, 2015 A motion was made by Chairman Shawn Gilbert to approve the previous meeting minutes of May 19, 2015. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried

 

Treasurer’s Report A motion was made by Chairman Shawn Gilbert to approve the treasurer’s report. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

 

Approval of current township and sewer bills thru May, 2015 – A motion was made by Chairman Gilbert to approve the municipal reports thru April 2015.  Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

 

Approval of municipal reports (sewer, road, Arro, Prodesign) – A motion was made by Chairman Gilbert to approve the municipal reports for April 2015. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion, Mrs. Orlick polled the board. All members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

 

Attorney’s BusinessAgreement of Sale was signed tonight for the sale of Grier City Playground.

NEW BUSINESS

A motion to approve CDBG funding of $80,000.00 for the project of Hometown Avenue and part of Miller Street Sanitary Sewer Replacement.  Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

A motion to request permission for fire police to assist with the St. Jerome’s 6th Annual Walk/Run at Marian High School on Saturday, June 6th beginning at 9:00 a.m. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried. (Retroactive)

A motion to apply for Grant for police department to get a body camera. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

 

A motion to apply for an Edward Bryne’s Memorial Grant for Police Department equipment. Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

Bid Opening of 2015 Equipment Rental with Operators contract.  Only one bid was received from Troppy Contractor Inc. for $46,590.00 for equipment rental.  A motion to conditionally accept the bid, if it meets the engineering approval of all specifications.  Vice Chairman Leibensperger approved, Supervisor Motroni seconded the motion. Mrs. Orlick polled the board, all members voted in favor of the motion, motion carried.

 

Public Comment  –

 Are they having the ATV race on Father’s Day weekend?  No, Township has heard nothing, so there will be nothing.

  1. Joe Shamonsky – Equipment Rental can you find out how much the operator gets paid an hour? The Project is not over $100,000 so the contractor does not have to disclose how much he pays his operators.

 

Supervisors Comment–  None.

Chairman Gilbert adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
