Traffic Stop Results in Drug Seizure and Arrest

The Rush Township Police Department has charged three individuals as a result of a traffic stop.  A vehicle was stopped for a violation in the 700 block of Claremont Avenue.  During the stop, officers observed the odor of Marijuana, and also observed packaging material commonly used for the distribution of Heroin.  Further investigation uncovered 114 baggies of  suspected Heroin, 4.5 grams of unpackaged Heroin, and empty packaging material used in the distribution of Heroin.  The unpackaged Heroin could yield 125 additional packages of Heroin without the dilution of a cutting agent.  If one is used, that would increase the yield of the amount of individual Heroin baggies that the 4.5 grams could produce.

Kenneth Rosario, age 18 of Scranton was charged with 3 Felony violations and 4 Misdemeanor offenses ranging from Possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance to Endangering the welfare of children.  He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Bayer and was committed to the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.
